Bernadette Peters
Bernadette Peters (nee Lazzara was born on February 28th, 1948) is an American performer, actress, and children's book author. She has appeared on films, television, musical theatre and solo shows, as well as recorded recordings. Her career spans more than six decades. The critically well-known Broadway performer, she has received seven Tony Awards nominations, winning two (plus an honourary award) and nine Drama Desk Award nominations. She received three. Four of her Broadway casting albums in which she has starred have been awarded Grammy Awards.
Many believe Peters as the top Stephen Sondheim interpreter. She is especially well-known for her performances on Broadway including Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (1884), Song and Dance (1885), Into the Woods with George (1987), The Goodbye Girl (1993), Annie Get Your Gun (1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2010), Follies (2009) and Hello, Dolly (2018).
