Amy Carlson

 Amy Lynn Carlson (born July 7, 1968) is an American actress who is known for her performances in the roles of Linda Reagan in the CBS police procedural Blue Bloods as well as Alex Taylor on the NBC drama Third Watch, and Josie Watts in the NBC daytime soap opera Another World.



 



 Childhood and early life



 Carlson was born in Elmhurst in Illinois [[DuPage County Illinois near Chicago. She was raised in Glen Ellyn in Illinois by her parents, Robert Eugene Carlson and Barbara Jane (Hultman), teachers at school. Carlson is of Swedish descent , and has roots in Smaland.



 



 Career



 1986-1992: Early career , and college



 Her first exposure to Hollywood through her part as a background actor in the movie Lucas starring Charlie Sheen (Corey Haim) and Winona Ryder. In the following years, she stayed with her older sister Betsy (Knox College) in Galesburg.
